Personality: Samhein is flashy and ostentatious, and he loves to flaunt himself around. He knows he’s a special horse; being a orange-based colored Hallowequine, everyone at the stables gives him a second look. He’s stubborn and difficult to ride, at times, but he loves jumping. The fences in his corral had to be heightened, so he didn’t jump out to go see the mares. He’s a ladies’ man, and will always flirt with the other mares, even though he will get nowhere with Thrice Accursed. In his stall, he is curious and playful, but he can nip and snap when provoked, or when he’s simply bored.

Other: He will be trained to be a show-jumping mount, and will also be used for halter purposes. Show-jumping is the main goal for Samhein.


The dark blue truck rattled up to Zero Gravity Stables, its engine protesting slightly. Ari, wearing her black breeches and dusty red shirt, slowed the vehicle to a stop and jumped out of the car. She had come to look at a beautiful Hallowequine gelding that Miss Grimhound was selling. From the pictures, this was a simply gorgeous horse. With time, he’d make an amazing show-jumping horse…she could just imagine them, soaring over the jumps with ease, the horse’s multicolored tail streaming out behind him.
“Ari. Hey, Ari! Turn off the car!” Ari looked around in confusion. Zythen, just visible behind a pile of tack in the back seat, laughed slightly at her. “Daydreaming again, eh?” he grinned, piling the tack back onto the seat. Ari smiled back, turning off the ignition and closing the door. “Come on, Zythen, let’s go look at this beauty.”

Miss Grimhound had told them beforehand that the gelding was in the stables. Zythen marveled at the odd and gorgeous horses eying them. He stopped and stared at Show Time, a strange Harlequine with bright green eyes.
“Remember to go buy a Harlequine and get a breeding with this guy,” he grinned at the horse. Ari scoffed. “Come on, he’s not for sale. We’re looking for Hallowequines, remember, Zythen?” She continued to look for the prospective show-horse. She looked up as someone snorted, right into the eyes of the most beautiful Hallowequine she had ever seen.
The horse had a bright vermilion base, with swirling black and white markings aplenty. His mane fell in a cascade of black and white down his finely arched neck. His forelock framed his bright yellow eyes and delicately dished head. The horse snorted, his nostrils flared, head held high. Both Ari and Zythen had a soft spot for Arabian-type horses, and this gelding surely qualified.
“Woah,” was all Zythen had to say in the matter. Ari outstretched her hand, and the gelding sniffed her palm daintily, his whiskers brushing against it. The gelding pricked his ears forward and backed away from the two, to watch them curiously from the far corner.
Zythen glanced quickly at Ari. “So…what’ya thinking?” Ari frowned, thinking for a moment. “We’ll have to wait a few days while I make a decision, but wow, is that a horse.” Zythen nodded in agreement. They both turned away to return to Birch Run. As they exited the building, Zythen gave one last, desperate look at Show Time, and they both departed.

Man, I love this guy. He is gorgeous! I think Samhein fits him perfectly. Well, I’m trying to adopt him from *kalmakoira. Wish me luck, there are three others applying for him, as well.
